A system that is often offered to accompany homes  low consumption is the so-called “controlled recovery mechanical ventilation  heat". A rather complex denomination for a simple and  effective for improving the air quality and energy efficiency of  prefabricated houses.
This system provides for the complete exchange of air  of the house always guaranteeing fresh and healthy air that can be  pre-cooled in summer and pre-heated in winter by means of a heat recovery unit  high efficiency heat. 

In summary the operation:

The purpose of this system is to replace the manual openings  windows, necessary for air exchange especially in homes a  held like prefabricated houses. Ventilating manually involves  large heat losses that can be avoided with ventilation  mechanics, with negligible management costs.

Basically it is two  simple fans, the cost on the electricity bill will be quite  negligible, but the most substantial savings will be obtained on the contrary from the minor  energy needs for heating and cooling the home,  identifying this plant as an important integration to the system  thermal.  It is no coincidence that the certification of the building will bring great benefits  by the presence of ventilation, to the point that it is almost always possible  passage to the higher energy class. A Class B will turn into Class A and so on. 

​ But not only. Smoke and odors, pollen, microorganisms, humidity and stale air will be eliminated, with a simple and minimal operation  maintenance. The well-being of a home  prefabricated with the precious contribution of mechanical ventilation, it will prevent the formation of mold, with optimal conditions  healthiness, absence of drafts and consequent reduction of respiratory diseases. From an aesthetic point of view, apart from the small  inlet and outlet vents, the system is virtually invisible and not  binds the furniture of the house. 

Of course we can open the windows  when we want, but it will no longer be necessary. It must be said that there is no  problem of the transmission of noises between one room and another or of hearing the  fans, as the whole system is acoustically isolated.  As said more  times, the prefabricated houses  are low-consumption homes  energy, for which the plants will be undersized, especially in the face of it  of a project aimed at passive energy saving. Mechanical ventilation  controlled is however an intelligent system and very suitable to complete  thermally these dwellings. It is an investment that will be fully understood in the real benefits that we will derive from its installation. Generally the costs are not very light, but they will have to be carefully weighed as  investment over time, thanks to the actual economic savings that  produce.
